Room Types

  • Classrooms: Furniture consists of easily movable tablet arm chairs. These rooms are best suited for course breakouts, discussions, test taking, etc.
  • Seminar Room: Furniture consists of long tables and movable chairs. Great for discussions, club meetings, and informal get-togethers.
  • Conference Room: Furniture consists of chairs around a central table(s). Great for round-table meetings.
  • Lecture Hall: Stadium style seating with fixed furniture. Great for large groups, guest speakers, and groups in need of AV equipment.
  • Special Event Space: Various types of events can be held in these unique spaces. Can be reserved up to one year in advance.
  • Lab: Teaching laboratory.

Special Features & AV Information: 

– An “AV Bridge” is a device used to connect the camera and microphones installed in our rooms to your laptop, allowing for Zoom/video conferencing integration and recording. Most lecture halls and some seminar spaces have AV Bridges installed (see table above).

– All rooms have wireless internet and Ethernet connections, unless otherwise noted.  You may need a valid UW NetID to access the network. For questions about wireless service, please contact UW IT.

– Food is not permitted inside any of our rooms in the Health Sciences and Foege-S buildings. If your event in one of these rooms will have food, you must reserve a space where the catering can be set up outside the room. All CRS events with food will have event containers and event container setups added to their orders. For the safety of CRS and custodial staff, users are responsible for disposing of their own glass bottles.

Foege Genome Sciences Building

Located behind the Health Sciences Building and the S-1 (South Campus) Parking Garage.

Directions: Head south on 15th Ave NE towards the Portage Bay until you arrive at Gate 6. Continue through Gate 6 and the South Campus Center will be on your right.

Informal Learning Spaces

All spaces are free to use on a first-come, first-serve basis.  These spaces cannot be reserved.

Wireless Internet connection is available in all spaces however, you may need a valid UW NetID to access the network.
